Today's ON THE AIR:
LEAVE ME ALONE

Leave me alone Brazil 12'' single (MIX)
Epic ("Superespecial")/CBS 64 00316/653501

"I don't care what you talkin' 'bout baby
I don't care what you say
Don't you come walkin' beggin' back mama
I don't care anyway
Dime after dime, I gave you all of my money
No excuses to make
Ain't no mountain that I can't climb baby
All is going my way
'Cause there's a time when you're right
And you know you must fight
Who's laughing baby, don't you know
And there's the choice that we make
And this choice you will take
Who's laughin' baby?..."

THE SHOWROOM'S
RECORD OF THE WEEK
NUMBER ONES
USA PROMO 2 LP SET
EPIC/SONY E2S57429 XSS57430/XS57431

Just a few weeks before the release of the collection "Number ones", Sony music sent to radios and press this unique 2 lp-set; this is the ONLY vinyl release of "Number ones", it comes in a gatefold white stickered picture sleeve. The sticker writing is as simple as easy:"Michael Jackson - Number ones".
The tracklist is the same we found on the cd edition, splitted in 4 sides.

Not a massive collector, but a must-have for everyone who loves vinyls and wants a "complete" albums discography.

TODAY'S
WELCOME TO THE SHOWROOM:
DANGEROUS
JAMAICA 2 LP SET
EPIC/SONY/DYNAMIC SOUNDS
E48841

What you see is truly an hard-to-find record, and the Showroom is proud to add a NEW country to its collection of presses from all over the world; this Dangerous copy infact, comes from Jamaica! And even though it looks very similar to the U.S. press, you can see a sticker on the back cover cerifying that the records are made in Jamaica, and - most important detail - on the labels you can read:"Manufactured by Dynamic Sounds, 19 Bell RD, NGM, JA ("JA" means, of course, Jamaica).

To my knowledge:a "Thriller" and a "Bad" press were also released in Jamaica, but I don't have any picture about both records. I didn't have a picture of this too, but now is strightly here in the Showroom!

THE RECORD(S) OF THE WEEK:
THRILLER
MEXICO 12'' SINGLE
GREEN VINYL
RED VINYL
EPIC/CBS SCL-45043

Again:2 coloured vinyls, this time coming from Mexico!
This combo deserved the "Record of the week" post!
Both mexican releases come with the same catalogue number and same - identical - sleeve; on the front you can see the writing "Hecho en Mexico", and this could be a good clue to recognize the uncommon press. If some of you are still looking for these presses, remember that the green vinyl it's the rarer of the two:it is possible that the record plant produced less copies than the red one. So a good value for the green in mint conditions could be $200, the half ($100/120) for the red version.

THE RECORD(S) OF THE WEEK:
THE GIRL IS MINE
ISRAEL YELLOW VINYL
ISRAEL ORANGE VINYL
EPIC/CBS 2729

The Showroom's choice for the most revelant items in this page, is a Thriller-era related this week.
We're talkin'about the first single released to launch THE BIGGEST SELLING ALBUM OF ALL TIME! "The girl is mine" with Paul McCartney was released a few weeks before the album date, and in Israel got a 2 coloured versions in its 7'' format:one in yellow vinyl, and one in orange vinyl.
So...here they are!
Someone told me in the past there's a red version too...I think indeed that is a darker orange colour, so I'm quite sure that only 2 coloured versions have been produced in Israel.

THE RECORD OF THE WEEK:
WE'RE ALMOST THERE
(CASI LO LOGRAMOS)
ECUADOR 7'' SINGLE
MOTOWN/FEDISCOS 45-29004
(M-1341-F)

Today's record of the week comes straightly from Ecuador, and it's a rare press of "We're almost there", with translated title "Casi lo logramos" and with unique light blue Motown labels.
Also, the best part of this record is the matching sleeve - released by Fediscos, an Ecuador record company. As you can see from the label, Fediscos is named on the left side, and that means that this copy came exactly from the warehouse with that clear-transparent company sleeve.
It is very hard to find south american records with a matching sleeve. When you have the chance, I suggest you to check if the sleeve reports a company name that is visible also on the labels.

Also, I want to give you an alert:don't be fooled by picture sleeves (there are a lot of records with a never-seen-before picture sleeve on Ebay):almost ALL the southamerican releases, especially from the 70's (Jackson 5, Motown and so on...) came with a COMPANY sleeve. The picture sleeves you see on these auctions are FAKE.
