2 promos of the "Smile" single have been distributed in the EU.
The UK version have a picture cardboard sleeve in blue tint with embossed MJ's dancing feet on front and embossed Michael's name on back (the fifth in a series of 5 promos taken from HIStory & Blood on the dancefloor albums).
The Austrian version is a single jewel case with a simple artwork which reports "Michael Jackson - Smile" on a white sleeve.
Bootlegs of this version too have been introduced in the collector's markets, so beware and always take a look to the matrix numbers of the cd (bootlegs have no numbers) and to the logos in the sleeve backside (less detailed and smudged on the bootlegs).

Records like these...don't need stories or presentations for Michael Jackson's record collectors.
This single was originally planned to be released as the final single from the album "HIStory PAST PRESENT & FUTURE BOOK I", but was cancelled just a few days before its release date, due to issues with making the short film and with promotion (MJ cancelled a Wetten Dass performance in Germany).
Only a few copies of the single were distributed,then retired from shops, and at the end,destroyed.
As a result, it has become one of the rarest records of Michael's entire discography.
In 2004/2005 some bootleg copies of the vinyl invaded the collector's markets. Always take a look to the barcode, the matrix numbers and the labels to distinguish a fake copy from an original one.

And the 3''s saga continues! Even though this american mini cds series may not be the greatest collectors item ever, and even though is not a beauty in its own (the artwork looks a little bit anonymous), I'm still hunting to complete the set. I guess, now that I have in my hands "Another part of me", that only "Thriller" and "Smooth criminal" are missing in the Showroom. 
One day, maybe, I'll be ablke to post the complete set...until then, here it is the U.S.A. 3'' single release of "Another part of me"! Still sealed!
You know what? The hunt continues...

This is a limited promo boxset released only for promotional use in Korea, tlaunch the "Invincible" album.

The gatefold boxset contains a korean promotional copy (without barcode) of the full album (CPK-2514), a 30th Anniversary fold-out booklet with korean text as well as a 9-track promo-only "Best Music Video CD" (PROM-103) featuring the You Rock My World video along with classic Michael's videos. The silver box (12" x 7") recalls the album artwork on the front sleeve, and have liner notes written in korean on the left side when you open it, while both cds have their storage inside the box. This item is very rare, and probably it was released in no more than 100 pieces.

Usually, for a Michael collector, it's not easy to find a spanish press single. 
It's even more difficult to find a spanish promo press, but this is another story. 
The hardest thing is when you are in front of 2 different spanish press, almost identical, and you have only 1. You have to look for the missing one!!
BAD in Spain have been released in 2 versions. The first press, have been distribuited with a mispress, and on the upper right side of the front sleeve, Epic Spain used the same writing characters of the dutch presses, stating that the 12" is a "MAXI SINGLE 33RPM".
The info is ok for the dutch presses, but NOT for the spanish ones because the spanish release is a 45 rpm 12''. So what?
The first presses of the Maxi Single have a sticker which changes the wording "33RPM" in "45RPM". 
On the reissues, distributed later, the 33RPM info has been removed, and then the writing "MAXI SINGLE" had to be moved slightly on the right side.
Record, labels and back cover are all the same.

Another coloured vinyl appeared in the french market some weeks ago:it's a MJ/Jackson 5 collection of hits, released in green vinyl, part of a series named "Motown collection" (a similar reissue I saw, in blue vinyl, is a Marvin Gaye greatest hits). What more can I say? I love coloured vinyls, and I'm an huge fans of these reissue, so gimme more and more!!!
