What can I say about these treasures? Jam U.S: promo cds came with an unique sleeve (different from the other worldwide releases) showing Michael Jackson & Michael Jordan playing basketball. Even some "multiflavoured" remixes are still unreleased on a commercial CD format so...Nothing more to say:these cds are, without any doubt, a must-have for EVERY collector!!!

 Today I'll show the rarest bluray release of the entire lot:this "Amazon.jp" exclusive steelbook is certainly one of the rarest releases of the movie, due to the chance to buy it only through mail-order in Japan. The box comes with a little sticker on the front case, the obi in the lower side of the case, and a back artwork totally translated in japanese language!

The Showroom's welcome today is dedicated to a portuguese 7''release of Say Say Say, with a mispelled label; infact, if you take a look at the B-Side, you will see that "Ode to a koala bear", clearly a song by Paul McCartney only, is credited to Michael too.

What you can see in the pictures is a leather boxset, with a white leather strip (just like an obi). The strip is removable, and when you open the box this is the stuff you'll find inside:

- a 2 DVD SET deluxe edition of the movie "This is it" 

(renamed in russian "BOT'N'BCE")

- A mirrored frame with Michael on it

- An OZON.RU discount card

In a few words, this is truly an amazing deluxe release to own, but very hard to find nowadays.

Ok we've had Jacksons posterbag 7''s (Torture), and a variety from Michael from the "Dangerous" era ("in the closet", "Jam", "Heal the world" and "Will you be there" for example"), just one from the HIStory era ("Scream"), but there's another one we, the collectors, can't forget, and it's released by Motown in 1983:"Happy/We're almost there". Here you can see it with the poster unfolded, and this is the record of this week!

THE ULTIMATE COLLECTION BOXSETS   & 

THE OBSCURE EUROPEAN 2009 

WHITE REISSUE

Let's talk about the "Ultimate collection"! Here you can see all the commercial boxsets in the Showroom collection. As y'all know, this boxset was released in 2004 and it contains an handful of previously unreleased recordings and demos, as well as almost all the greatest hits of the King of Pop and the "Dangerous Tour Live in Bucharest" dvd.

With this boxset, the fans have had the opportunity to hear the wonderful "We've had enough" for the very first time, and outtakes from the "THRILLER" era ("Scared of the moon"), "BAD" era (like "Cheater"), and "Invincible" era ("In the back", "The way you love me") early versions of classic hits ("Shake a body"), the original demo of "We are the world" sung by Michael solo as the guide vocal of the song. "Monkey business" was another unreleased track but well-known at the time because it was already leaked on the web as a part of the "Dangerous sessions", and "We're here to change the world" taken from the mini-movie "Captain Eo" was another popular song among fans but never officially released.

Among these releases, the 2009 reissue is an obscure reissue:even Discogs doesn't have it in its catalogue, and it was distributed apparently only in UK at the end of 2009.

DANCING THE TAIWANESE DREAM

 

 

Maybe in this blog we're too focused on records, so it's nice sometimes to explore some memorabilia. I guess I didn't post a book for so long so...look at the pictures! There's a very rare Taiwan edition of book of poems written by Michael, "Dancing the dream". And it comes with its classic picture sleeve (this is not an hardcover book, but a softcover) and title and name (I guess) translated in taiwanese language. It's a very nice item, isn't it?

The Showroom is proud to add a new "Invincible" cassette to this collection :-) And this is a very nice newcomer:it comes from Argentina, with its original Sony music black back case, and the cassette is crystal orange! It may not be the greatest rarity in the King of Pop collector's world, but, in my opinion, this is a 

must-have!
