You know, every vountry used to produce special editions in 7'' format, to promote the singles from an album and let it playing on the juke-boxes. Some countries like France and USA released sometimes these editions with a picture sleeve too; in Italy there was a chance to get the record with a sleeve not matching the artists' record, and with a big hole in the middle.

These releases, most of the items, came with plain white sleeves; if you want to get a special juke-box copy, I suggest you to be patient and look for a copy complete with the matching juke-box strip - that means you will have a COMPLETE record.

Sometimes, label A and label B didn't contain the same artists'songs. Most of the times both artists on the record came from the same label, but I even saw some splitted records with 2 artist from different production labels.

Important note:"In the closet" italian juke-box edition, is the only 7'' fromat to contain the long 6'32" album version, that's why this release is truly an unique treasure.

This was truly an amazing gift for a lot of european fans:some first presses of the HIStory, past present and future Book I cd, distributed in France, Germany and Holland, contains an hidden spoken message from Michael. The message says:"HI, THIS IS MICHAEL JACKSON. I WANNA THANK ALL MY FANS IN --- (Germany, France or Holland) --- FOR THE CONTINUING LOVE AND SUPPORT ALL OVER THE YEARS. I HOPE TO COME AND VISIT YOU VERY SOON AND PERFORM FOR ALL OF YOU. I LOOK FOR TO SEE YOU VERY SOON, UNTIL THEN, GOODBYE, I LOVE YOU ALL. GOODBYE."

And these are all the 3 releases containing the hidden message. You can easily recognize them, because the alert of the message is written on the final notes of the stickers.

Sice their release, these cds became a must for all the fans around the world. But beware:the catalogue number doesn't change, and it's the same of all the common european releases. So the only way to know if you have a cd with an hidfden message, is to watch the sticker or play cd1 until the end of "Heal the world".

OMG, how I love this mini cd!

The wonderful picture sleeve shows Michael live on the Bad Tour, and the 3''cd includes 3 of the greatest Michael's hits (Billie Jean, Don't stop 'til you get enough & Wanna be startin'somethin'). This was released in 1988 by Epic, and it's a part of the "Solid gold" 3''single series made for all the most important artists on Epic label (among these, George Michael and Terence Trent D'arby got a "Solid gold" 3'' too).

Several years ago, before internet and the auctions online, this was a "something-to-die-for" item. Now, it's not that rare item you have to follow for ages, and with just a little bit of patience you can easily add it to your collection.

I remember I bought this cd in a record fair in Milan and, at the time, it was one of the best purchases I made in that fair.

Probably today it wouldn't be the same, but let me say one thing:after all these years, its beauty remains intact!

You're right, Halloween has gone but...just a few days before the ghoulish party, some new "Scream"-related items arrived in the Showroom. This is the chosen one:the beautiful "glow-in-the-dark" 2 lp set. This set is wonderful:it contains 2 vinyls, one white/pale yellow colour and the other with a "splattered-stars" blue:if you let them take some daylight, when you put it on the turntable - and you close the windows - the records remains both luminous! Also a portion of the sleeve make the same effect. Apart its content (not happy with it, I wonder why they incluided "Leave me alone" instead of "Is it scary" in an Halloween songs selection), this format release looks very catchy and interesting. And then:this record marks the first "augmented reality" effect:just use the Shazam camera on your smartphone, and watch the crows floating all around the sleeve!
I'm in love with this record and it's nice to play it in this cold autumn nights; my point of view is that these vinyls are a nice addition to the collection.
I know a lot of people could be disappointed by this post, but I don't care:I'm a collector, a RECORD collector and Branca or not Branca, Sony or not Sony, to be or not to be, I've always decided to do what I consider the best for all I've done in almost 30 years:collecting.
So please don't blame me about that:
just blame it on the boogie (man)!
