Do you want to see something harder to find?
Well, let's talk about the Dominican Republic! It seems that "Thriller" got a release EVERYWHERE. Yes, in the pictures below you can see a dominican copy, complete with picture sleeve (not gatefold), and labels as poor as unique : a light blue with an almost green "Epic" logo (Pictures #3 & #4).
How can you see it's from Dominican Republique? There's a small writing on the back sleeve (picture #5) : it means that sometimes a collector must have the Sherlock Holmes eyes :-)
Needless to say : this press is very very rare!

The Michael Jackson HIStory statue is a sculpture of Michael Jackson created in 1994 by Diana Walczak that became the basis for the cover image of Jackson's album HIStory: Past, Present and Future, Book I as well as the basis for large temporary statues to market the album and the 1995 HIStory World Tour.

This figure, released in Japan in 2 versions - silver and gold - is tall 10'' (23 cm) and it's an almost perfect miniature of the statue designed by Diana Walczak. In my opinion, this is a nice memorabilia item to own, especially if your collection have an "HIStory-era" shelf.

The time machine goes today back in 1992, when the Dangerous Tour hit the asian countries, and Epic/Sony released the "Dangerous Tour Souvenir" cd & cassette in Malaysia as a compendium of the picture cd boxsets release in Europe and in Japan with the same name. The above-mentioned boxsets were composed by 4 (Europe) and 5 (Japan) picture cd singles, while the Malaysian one features a selection of 14 tracks taken from the japanese box (including Come together) compiled in one golden picture cd only, with an amazing "Dangerous Tour opening MJ pose" artwork. Both the cd and cassette formats were released in limited quantities. As a result, this release is truly a masterpiece for any collection.

Well, there's no album like "Bad". With this single, even though it was released only as a 7'' for promotional purpose in France, and made in Holland in limited quantites, "Bad" reaches the 10th single release out of 11 tracks in total.
This beautiful promo 7'', not easy to find nowadays, plays the same track 4'01" on both sides, and have a picture sleeve from the same "warp" photoshoot used for the inserts of the BAD album releases.

MISPRESSES & MISTAKES

Look at the pictures, and you'll find out what went wrong with this US distribution plant of the "Blood on the dancefloor" cd!
Some kind of 2nd presses of the cd hit the stores with a wrong sticker : that sticker is the one used for the US version of the LP! It says "2 vinyl set"...but it's a cd!!
Such an obvious error, is it possible that Sony distributers didn't noticed it?
By the way, this cd gained a particular revelance in the Showroom's "mispresses" collection! :-)
NOTE : The cd is totally sealed, and the sticker is glued UNDER the plastic envelope, so it comes like that, straight from the warehouse to the shops.

In 1988, Epic UK, to celebrate and promote the UK "BAD tour" dates, launched a limited edition 5 x 7'' square shaped picture discs set, with all the discs (containing each a single taken from the "Bad"album) placed together in order composing a "live" MJ picture.
Shaped picture records usually have a regular 12'' format, then they have to be cut by a special machine who gives them the wished shape. A few copies of some of those "Bad" singles composing the set that should have been square shaped, went through an unfinished production step (they didn't pass the "cut" machine") and remained in their original 12'' size.
This is the whole "tour souvenir" set...uncut.
